Miyamoto New Zealand's Building Surveying team were contacted by the Client to investigate potential moisture damage to their property that was discovered during the construction of a deck of the back of the house. Moisture testing and invasive investigations were undertaken revealing that there was extensive moisture damage resulting in a reclad of the entire property.
The neighbour in the adjoining Unit also asked our Building Surveyors to undertake an investigation on their property. This also resulted in a partial reclad of their property.
All work was carried out under a Building Consent issued by the Kapiti Coast District council. Miyamoto New Zealand monitored the timber remediation throughout the project and confirmed at the end of the project that the timber remediation had been carried out in accordance with the requirements of the NZ Building Code.
